Weekly Update 20th December 2017

The Club Awards evening is on 6th January, tickets are on sale at reception on NISV, please pick up your tickets, let’s get as many as possible to the Awards evening and really celebrate our year.

The 2003’s put on a spirited display in their match against Wanderers, in the Welsh League, winning the contest 11 – 6. Then the 2000’s took on Wanderers again and showed how far they have come in the last 3 years, structuring a very workman like display of Polo, to win the match 23 – 13. Well done to both teams, and indeed, all of our Juniors.

There will be training as normal over the Christmas period, the pool is booked, so come along if you can, whatever you do, do not let your fitness levels drop, we have a lot of games in January.

I have added the diary to the end of the first week of January, 3 weeks, just in case I don't get to update the page over the next 2 weeks.

Weekly Update 6th December 2017

NOTE: No training in Newport this weekend

The Club Awards evening is on 6th January, tickets are on sale at reception on NISV, please pick up your tickets, let’s get as many as possible to the Awards evening and really celebrate our year.

Last weekend saw the 2000’s and 2003’s in action.

The 2000’s won both of their matches, 21 – 4 against Carmarthen on Saturday, then 32 – 1 against Swansea on Sunday, well done to the whole team, a very professional performance.

The 2003’s put in a very spirited performance, despite missing one or two key players and others having to play out of position due to injuries etc, you all played exceedingly well and pushed Swansea the whole way through, the final score of 5 – 14 does not reflect the effort you put in.

There is no training in Newport this weekend due to Gala’s at the pool.

The Welsh League 2000’s competition should continue this Sunday (10th December) with Newport away to Cwm Draig, however, we have not yet had a confirmation from Cwm Draig that the match is actually on. As soon as we receive it, we will pass it on.

Next weekend (16/17 December) is a very busy one, with the 2nds taking on Swansea in Newport on Saturday 16th, then the 2003’s and 2000’s playing Wanderers in Newport on Sunday, good luck to all teams.

Weekly Update 29th November 2017

The 2nds took part in their first proper match last night and did very well in the first half, with the Half Times score of 5 – 4 to South Gloucester. The 2nd half was not quite so glorious, with the game ending at 14 – 6, but lots to learn and a great practice run for next season. This was not the fresh side we were thinking it was going to be, instead, there were a lot of fit young men in their team, who were physically dominant, yet still the 2nds did well, so lots to look forward to next season.

Training this weekend is at the normal time for the Juniors, Saturday 4 – 5.30, then the 2000’s take on Carmarthen in the Welsh League at 5.30 – 6.30, then Senior training from 6.30 – 8.

Action in the Welsh League again on Sunday, with the 2003’s playing their first match this season, against Swansea at 1PM on Sunday, then the 2000’s take on the Swansea 2000’s at 2.30.

RTC has finished this term, so enjoy Friday evening.

This match resulted on another win for the Juniors 21 – 12.
